Au théâtre ce soir

On 18th August, the courtyard of Gruyères Castle is taken over by the Theatre with a capital ‘T’ revisited by Cie un air de rien. Revealing the codes of different genres with finesse and humour, two actresses challenge the audience and reveal the relationships they create with performance. Through a gallery of theatrical portraits - from Greek tragedy to contemporary performance - punctuated by interactions with the audience, Au théâtre ce soir delivers a jubilant play.

The great names in the history of theatre need look no further than the Cie un air de rien's portrait of them in their creation Au théâtre ce soir. From Greek tragedy to Nordic minimalism, from vaudeville to performance art, two actresses take a close look at the various theatrical forms and ask themselves what's at stake in their practice. Each genre is taken in turn and dissected with a fine sense of mischief, revealing its inner workings and highlighting the audience's expectations.

From its origins to the present day, on both sides of the stage, actors and spectators forge links and participate in the co-creation of a theatrical work. And it's with their humorous performance that Cie un air de rien offer an excellent reason to go to the theatre this evening.
