St. John's Day Medieval Festival 2019

On 22nd and 23rd June 2019, experience the traditional St. John Day's Medieval Festival at Gruyères Castle.

Enter Gruyères Castle and meet the builders from all over Europe. All are busy on the scaffolding of yesteryear or in the squirrel cage, an ingenious construction machine. The architect will teach you the laws of divine proportion, the master glassmaker and the stonemason will reveal their skills, while you'll get your hands dirty building a cob wall.

There are plenty of workshops for young and old builders alike, and throughout the day, gourmets will be able to feast on medieval delicacies. As night falls, cast your wish into the brazier and let yourself be carried away by the wild dances of Saint-John's Day.
