The Georges Festival at the castle

On 19 April, Les Georges will be inviting to the Château de Gruyères for an original evening in a quirky setting (and vice versa!).

The canton of Fribourg is teeming with artists of all styles, many of whom have already graced the stage of Les Georges. To celebrate its 10th anniversary, the festival is once again showcasing some of these groups in a very special way. The public is invited to a unique cinema session in the medieval atmosphere of the castle courtyard, where original clips from 10 of these artists and groups will be projected onto the big screen.

An eclectic programme featuring the visual worlds of A.M.A.K., BARON.E, Crème Solaire, DAMLARTISTE, Dirty Sound Magnet, Laure Betris, Nonante, Pony Del Sol, Shuttle and The Young Gods.

And because that's what Georges is all about, the event will also feature live music! The screenings will be introduced by a showcase from the Fribourg duo Oze, who will be bringing their nostalgic melodies and catchy loops to the monument. Sensitive indie-folk that takes the audience on a dreamlike journey into its own wonderful world. A guaranteed change of scenery for those who let themselves be carried away by the magic of the music and the site.

But the evening's programme wouldn't be complete without the convivial presence of a local cliché: the FONDUE! To keep things on the offbeat side, the evening will be based on a BYOF (Bring Your Own Fondue) concept: the concert and projections don't start until nightfall at 8.45 pm, but the public are invited from 6.30 pm to take over the courtyard of the castle, equipped with their best fondue pots and stoves, as well as the best fondue cheeses in the canton, to share a home-cooked meal in this magical setting. Places are limited, so make sure you don't end up empty-handed, fondue pot in hand, in front of closed doors!
