Loredana Sperini
Si fa sera
Setting up her spring quarters at the Château de Gruyères, Loredana Sperini promises visitors a vibrant and crystalline exhibition. Mixing together seemingly clashing materials and forms, the artist brings into being a hybrid, poetically soft-edged world.
Between the mineral and the organic, her works evoke crystals that break the light to create a geometric symphony. These gems, some of which bear traces of bodily vulnerability, are brought face to face with the castle's ancient stones and, in the process, reveal fleeting emotions or deliquescent memories.
This is the Zurich artist's first show in French-speaking Switzerland. She has chosen to bathe the castle in visual resonances, immersing viewers in a muted, dusky light.
