Toute une histoire

Christmas tales from yesteryear and today

Listen carefully, open your eyes and let yourself be surprised by some amazing Christmas tales. Throughout the exhibition, people of all ages will be immersed in a warm atmosphere as they recall the tales of yesteryear. In the 19th century, these stories flourished and helped to create new traditions. Like Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, which invokes compassion and generosity, authors composed tales where the fantastic mingled with the real.

In the intimacy of the castle, the Toute une histoire exhibition recreates the surprising atmospheres of traditional Christmas tales. Collections, illustrations, decorations, and historical toys evoke these stories that have spanned the centuries. Listen to today's storytellers continue the tradition and share new stories, beautifully illustrated by Fribourg artist Line Rime.
